Hot Roderick

The ladies have been responding well to John Roderick for City Council ads, so I made up this little poster for the campaign.

Rupp Talks

Haven't been doing as well on the FB project as I would like - I've missed a few days due to various excuses: work, tired, unmotivated, uninspired. Ain't nothin to it but to do it. At least I've done a couple graphic design things in the meanwhile.

Here's a Ted Talks ripoff for a thing Chris Rupp started. Sounds like the name might end up being "Wet Talks", which is gross but I could also do some work on a logo for that.

Edit: added Wet Talks

A New Thing

Two weeks ago, I got a concussion playing Ultimate at Onionfest. Since then, I have been a bit grumpy, partly due to the brain trauma and partly due to my inability to play ultimate in the manner I've grown accustomed. One of my favorite parts of the game is how creative it allows me to be, but this injury has made me realize I may have all my eggs in one basket. I won't be able to do this forever, so I should probably start developing some other creative outlet that I'll enjoy.

In that vein, I've decided to start a new project. I will spend some amount of time every day creating something, be it a drawing, a poem, some music, or what have you. To counteract any negative effects of my recent grumpiness, I will be making these things for somebody, to hopefully brighten up their day just a little. Every day, I will make something and share it with someone from my friends list on Facebook, of which there are 485 people (Facebook is telling me 554, but my spreadsheet has 485. I'll have to investigate at a later date). I'll also be posting it here for posterity. Hopefully my skills will improve as an artist over the next year and a third, and I'll be able to have a good record of my progress.

I'll be going through my friends list alphabetically. Might as well start now.

A starting script for me to copy and paste:

Hey !

In order to give myself a creative outlet and hopefully spread a little cheer, I've started a project for myself in which I create something every day for one of my friends on Facebook. I'm going through my friends list alphabetically, and you are number _ of 485. Here's a thing I made just for you! I hope it brightens your day a bit.

Have a good one!
